It's in the city so if that's an issue, well you should know. Home2 Hilton is located downtown, close to the bus station. There's a complimentary laundry with a couple of washers and dryers. Little touches, like blueberries and other toppings make a difference here. There's hot oatmeal / cream of wheat, and a couple of waffle makers. The food is fine, with some pre-packaged egg breakfasts and the usual cereal, yogurt, etc. The eating area for breakfast is spacious, with a counter and bar chairs and plenty of tables going out into the large lobby area. It's all commercial high end, like everything at the hotel. The exercise area is excellent, with treadmills and an elliptical, a nice dumbbell set and exercise machine. The room with the pool is clean and simple, with plenty of towels and areas for sitting. Open until 10PM and relatively lightly used (during the three nights we stayed). Nice, relatively small pool using salt water. Little touches like stacks of green apples and lollipops for the kids at the desk and front lobby area are nicely thought out. Lots of attention to detail, including a nice color scheme that's somewhat retro contemporary with greens and orange. (There was no bathtub, at least not in our suite.) The decor. One doesn't have to worry about things like getting a shower in before the hot water is gone. ![]() The bathroom is nicely set up, with body wash and shampoo dispensers in the spacious shower with a sliding-glass door. (Just another detail that makes a difference.) There's no room service. We got a bottle of wine but no bottle opener, so we got one at the desk to keep in our room. This is an ideal setup for staying for a few days, particularly with family. Paper towels and dish washing detergent are a nice touch. There's a nice kitchen with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, microwave and most of the plates/bowls utensils one might need. Good amount of space for a family of four in a room with two beds. ![]() It beats boarding them at a comfortable place. There's a $75 flat fee - which covered two dogs for our three-night stay. Mostly, though, what strikes one is how the little things have all been addressed. There's nothing dank about the place at all. It's a friendly and casual place that's also a notch or two above your typical hotel. We really liked this place and will likely stay here next time we want to visit Eugene.
